Premium Mode for Individuals
Why premium mode and how does it work ?
Currently, the IM Status service acts like an IM chat client. Whenever a buddy status is requested
the buddy is added to the list (if he/she is not already on it).
This works very well for most protocols (e.g. AiM, MySpace) but some have limits to the size
of the buddy list (e.g. MSN, GTalk, etc).
Currently, buddies are added and removed based on usage statistics and a few other criteria.
But that means that at times your status is not readily available because you might have been
taken off the list.
Premium mode guarantees your spot on the buddy list! Your buddy status will always be promptly
available. On top of that, new features (like anonymous mode) will soon be available to premium users only.
How do I become a premium user ?
To become a premium user please donate $5 for one year or $8 for life-time membership via Paypal (link on the left)
and then send an email to premium@imstatuscheck.com with a list of your IM accounts you'd like to enable.
This is meant for individuals users that use a a maximum of 5 to 10 different IM accounts.

What other benefits are the to be a premium user ?
You'll get access to shorter URLs to allow for adding more status images to e.g. bulletin boards with
restricted length for the signature.
Also, anonymous mode will soon be premimum-user only. It was beta-tested successfully for a while and will
soon be closed for basic users.
In addition to that, you're supporting this site with your generous contribution and allow for continous
availability of the free service.
What about the basic IM Status service ?
The basic IM Status service is and always will be free off charge.
