Q: How do I use the anonymous mode and how does it work ?
A: The anonymous mode allows you to display your IM status without giving away
your username which for example for GTalk is also your email address.
Instead of your username you will get assigned a unique ID that is used instead.
First you need to register with the service. To do that start a chat with
the bot of the protocol you want to obtain an ID for and follow the instructions.
The usernames of the bots are:
AiM: yourimstatus
ICQ: 462541724
GTalk: yourimstatus@gmail.com
MySpace: yourimstatus
MSN: yourimstatus@hotmail.com
Yahoo: yourimstatus01
Q: My IM status image doesn't work in the signature of a forum. Why ?
A: Some forum software (e.g. phpBB) requires images to end
with a .png or .jpg extension. In this case, you can append the extension to the link of
the status image: http://www.imstatuscheck.com/status/aim/yourimstatus.png
In anonymous mode, the format is a bit different, it would look like this:
