If you're on Facebook and want to show your IM status to your friends you can add this application to display a box on your profile page.

General Instructions:
To create your IM Status indicator first select the protocol
you're using (e.g. MySpace) and then enter the username of the
account (e.g. Tom).
The icon on the right will immediately show the status and the
text box will show HTML code to include it on your website or in
your forum profile.
The general syntax for the URL for the status icon is:
http://www.imstatuscheck.com/status/[protocol]/[username]
